SUMMARY

This report compiles the Agency's findings regarding the creature commonly known as Bigfoot or Sasquatch - a large, hairy, bipedal primate allegedly inhabiting the forests of North America. After a comprehensive 14-year investigation involving field deployments, camera traps, hair sample analysis, and a deeply regrettable incident involving a man in a gorilla suit and a reality television crew, the Agency has reached the following conclusion: Bigfoot is real. He works for the Postal Service.

FINDINGS

Identification. The creature known as Bigfoot has been identified as an individual named [REDACTED], a 47-year-old mail carrier assigned to a rural delivery route in the Pacific Northwest. He is 6 feet 7 inches tall, weighs approximately 280 pounds, and has a medical condition called hypertrichosis that causes excessive hair growth across his entire body. He is not a cryptid. He is a very tall, very hairy man who walks through the woods to deliver mail because the roads on his route are impassable by vehicle for most of the year.

The Footprints. The distinctive 16-inch footprints that have fueled Bigfoot mythology for decades are not the tracks of an unknown primate. They are the result of [REDACTED] wearing standard-issue Postal Service boots size 16 wide, which he orders through the agency's uniform catalogue. The unusual gait pattern in the footprints is caused by a slight limp he developed after stepping on a pinecone in 2003. The pinecone was later identified and returned to its tree.

The Howling. The eerie howls and vocalizations attributed to Bigfoot have been recorded and analysed. They are not the calls of a mysterious forest creature. They are [REDACTED] singing show tunes while he walks his route. He has a surprisingly good tenor voice and is particularly fond of songs from "Les Misérables." The "call and response" pattern noted by Bigfoot researchers occurs when he sings duets with himself, alternating between Jean Valjean and Javert.

ANALYSIS

Hypothesis A - He Knows About the Legend. [REDACTED] is aware that people think he is Bigfoot. He has decided not to correct them. He finds the situation amusing and has deliberately leaned into it, occasionally leaving exaggerated footprints and howling dramatically when he knows hikers are nearby. He has never been photographed clearly because he can hear camera shutters from 200 yards away and is extremely good at ducking behind trees. He considers this his hobby. He rates Bigfoot documentaries for accuracy on his day off.

Hypothesis B - He Is Unaware of the Legend. [REDACTED] has never heard of Bigfoot. He does not own a television, does not read the internet, and has assumed that the people who occasionally run away screaming when they see him are simply not fond of mail carriers. He is confused by the footprints people keep finding but assumes they are a prank played by local teenagers. He is unaware that he is the subject of a multinational cryptid investigation spanning six decades.

Hypothesis C - The Postal Service Is Protecting Him. The United States Postal Service is aware that one of their employees is the source of the Bigfoot legend and has actively protected his identity because he has a 100% delivery rate on one of the most difficult rural routes in the country. The USPS has classified his route as "Sasquatch Sector" internally. His annual performance reviews read "delivers mail through all weather conditions, sings beautifully, occasionally startles hikers." He has been named Employee of the Month seventeen times.

CONCLUSION

Bigfoot has been identified, located, and assessed. He is a mail carrier. The Agency recommends that no action be taken. Informing the public that Bigfoot is a Postal Service employee would cause an irreversible erosion of mystery in the world and would likely result in [REDACTED] being unable to complete his mail route due to constant requests for photographs. He has enough mail to deliver. His route's on-time delivery rate is unmatched. The Agency has officially classified Bigfoot as "Postal Operations - No Further Inquiry Required."
